OUT-OF-SCHOOL-TIME SITE COORDINATOR
Supervises day-to-day Pulaski or Radford elementary and/or middle school 21st Century Community Learning Centers program operations including busing, student discipline, scheduling, activity supplies, communication with parents, and record keeping. Supervises all on-site programmatic functions, policies, and staff.
Education: Requires BS/BA; background in Education or Human Service preferred.
Experience: Past experience working in afterschool or summer programs preferred.
Special Skills: Special education, positive behavior supports, afterschool education, language arts, mathematics, youth development.
Type: Part-time 28-30 hours per week
Beginning wage: $14-20 per hour depending on experience
AMERICORPS NATIONAL SERVICE MEMBER
AmeriCorps national service positions provide dedicated individuals with a one year domestic service position. Members strengthen local communities while gaining highly transferable skills. U Serv AmeriCorps Members will serve in programs focused on economic opportunity, afterschool education, and parental engagement. Members will provide out-of-school-time enrichment programming for local K-12 populations. They will also engage economically vulnerable adults in efforts to expand employment possibilities leading to positive employment and educational outcomes. Services will target parents of children enrolled in after-school enrichment programs. Members will: 1. Develop, plan, and implement afterschool academic enrichment for at-risk children and teens 2. Provide homework assistance in reading/math to elementary students 3. Provide adult personal finance, computer literacy, and education workshops 4. Conduct community outreach 5. Provide micro enterprise technical assistance and training
Education: College graduate preferred
Experience: Education or training equal to the knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position
Service Term: 48 weeks; 1700 hours
Projected Start/End Dates: Sept 2017 – Aug. 2018
Living Allowance: $12,630; $526.25 bi-weekly
Education Award: $5,815
Total Member Support Rate: $10.85 per hour of completed service plus Health Insurance
