• Economic Development
  Beans and Rice also is engaged in developing local entrepreneurial activity through a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission. This activity will lead to a Southwest Virginia/Allegheny Highlanders Crafter network and a craft outlet on I-81 in Pulaski County.
• Individual Development Account Program
  Partnering with the New Enterprise Fund Beans and Rice is the intake and support for savers in the Individual Development account program. This is a two for one program that leads to home ownership, post secondary education, or small-business startup/development.

  Startups and growing businesses need access to capital, training, and technical assistance in order to become viable and sustainable. Micro Solutions offers Pulaski County micro entrepreneurs and small business a range of microenterprise and small business development products and services:
  " Microcredit loans between $500-$3,000
  " Micro loans up to $35,000
  " Roots Entrepreneurship Training
  " One-on-one technical assistance.
