Some people would like to start a business instead of working for someone else, but they need help. Beans and Rice is redesigning our program and assistance for those budding entrepreneurs. We are updating our resources and building up a team of volunteers with the experience needed to shepherd business startups through the process. Some of the support we’ll offer will be: guidance in evaluating the market, help developing a business plan, and classes on financial knowledge needed for owning a business. Staff and volunteer support will be available for questions and challenges. Services to low-income participants will be free and a sliding scale for those above.
Micro Credit and Loan Program
The Beans and Rice Micro Credit and Loan Programs focuses on helping those who need support accessing financial resources to reach individual or family stability. Whether that is learning how to build your credit score up, develop a system to grow your savings, working on your financial IQ, or securing funding for home or business, we want to support your course to success. In addition to classes and workshops, we offer a Micro Credit ($500 to $2,500) and a Micro Loan program ($3,000 to $25,000) for those who complete the class requirements and submit a successful application.
